Despite our negotiation committee’s best efforts, please be advised that talks with the IUPAT have reached a stalemate.
We have presented several offers that we know are in line, or in many cases exceed, the percentage increases already established by other trade settlements made to date.
Under the current union position, your total escalation in labour costs of any projects in the GTA would be in the area of 24% over the next 3 years. All locals in the province would face approximate increases in the range of 18% to 24%.
Despite the fact that our lines of communication remain open, a strike now feels inevitable.
Please plan accordingly and prioritize your workload between now and 12:01 am on June 13.
